Pure coconut oil although it contains saturated fat is not known to cause heart disease. People who have been using coconut oil for hundreds of years did not have high incidence of cardiac disease. Years gone by most Jamaicans usually used coconut oil to fry food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they did not have as many occurrences of cardiac disease as they do now. Is the cooking oil that they are now using contributes to increase occurrence of cardiac disease?

Listening to many Jamaicans calling on the Talk Show radios one gets the impression all of a sudden some Jamaicans have lost their commonsense, and their minds are in fantasyland. I heard people calling the talk shows within hours complaining that they do not have electricity. Even while the breeze was still blowing and the rain falling heavily there were complaints after complaints. I was in the Florida during some of the most viscous hurricanes in 2004 and it was almost one week before some people got back electricity. I do not like to compare Jamaica with the USA either way, but I am just stressing the point that the USA is has far more resources than Jamaica. We Jamaicans should not waste precious airtime on trivial and unavoidable things, we should instead complain about the high cost of electricity.
