Fashion Director Memsor Kamaraké talks to the supermodel about her time with the King of Pop

I promptly reached out to Ms. Campbell for comment and she graciously and swiftly responded:

“I grew up with Michael Jackson, he was a good friend and the most exciting and innovative entertainer to have lived.

No artist has connected to their audience like Michael and no one will ever be able to match what he has achieved. He gave back to people through his charity work and was an amazing father and human being. (more…)

Bernie MADoff Gets 150 Years in Jail

Wall street No. 1  Swindler Bernie MADoff  received a 150 year jail sentence for running a multi-billion dollar Ponzi Scheme. This sentence  sets a precedent and guideline for the Jamaica judges to follow in sentencing our own Ponzi Schemer, Carlos Hill, of Cash Plus. Ponzi Scheme in layman terms is robbing from Peter to pay Paul.  Anyway, how can  a 70 odd year old man gets 150 years in prison? (more…)

BET Award Missing Reggae Category

I watched the BET award last night and except for the occasional tribute to Michael Jackson, and the appearance of the iconic group the O’Jays, there was nothing new. We had Lil”weird’ Wayne performing his usual antics and Jay Z and Beyonce trying to be supernatural as usual, but the show was too lengthy and sometimes boring. We wonder how a Black Entertainment Television award show could go on for 3 hours with not a single reggae artist performing. (more…)

I had to see it for myself in black and white and even then I just cannot see the rationale behind this nonsense. Why do we need to import patties? I want to know why. You want to tell me that we don’t have enough patties in Jamaica. Come on Jamaicans this is going too far. There can be no excuse or rational for this decision making. Every country is (more…)

Death of Michael Jackson

It is very disturbing and concerning if the rumors that is floating is correct. It is said that MJ was overdose which led to his death by Demerol (meperidine). If this is really so this Dr. is grossly negligent to inject such drug and not to have Narcan (naloxone) an opioid antagonist at his side. I cannot see how someone would take such risk. Why would he be giving a medication like this with no oxygen or Narcan available? (more…)

America’s Thriving Ganja Industry

Mr. Morris

Your letter to the Gleaner 6/26/09 regarding ganja production and its benefit medically as well as economical was excellent. I have thought about the same points that you have mentioned and I have come to the same conclusion, that America is being hypocritical in their decision to put pressure on Jamaicans who grow ganja. It is a shame that because America is so big and powerful that they can do anything they want to do and tell other countries what they should do. (more…)
