I cannot see how the Prime Ministers of Jamaica present and pass allow free reign of the Dons throughout the country. It is about time for the country elected officials to stop the backward practice. If the Dons or community leaders want to lead then they should go forth and do it the correct way. It is up to the people to decide if they want to elect them as their leaders. It is refreshing to see the Government of Jamaica doing what majority of the people in Jamaica wanted him to do.
After the impressive display in China and the unbelievable win in Germany it is only fair for the Government to acknowledge what the majority of Jamaicans knew and was feeling, the pride and passion and greatness of Jamaica. Jamaica Playwright and screen writer Trevor Rhone died yesterday. Rhone was well known for his part in nc0-writing the film’ ’The Harder They Come.’ He also produced ‘Smile Orange ‘and ‘Story time.’ He was 69 years old when he died from an hear attack.

Jamaica Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, announces that he will bestowed one of the nation’s highest award on super sprinter Usain Bolt. When this is done Bolt will be called the ‘Honorable’ Usain Bolt. The PM also announces that Highway 2000 will be renamed after Bolt. Good job to honor them while they are alive and are on top of their game.

The church law campaign is focus on the legal regulation of non-established churches, meaning non Church of England (CoE) churches.
At present there are hundreds of churches formed within the UK each year and they are answerable to no one. Yes, if their income is above £5,000 they are required to register with the Charity Commission and registration with the Charity Commission only means that their finances will be accounted for. The Charity Commission investigate financial irregularities and do not get involve in the trustees’ general administration of churches, their general conduct or misconduct, investigate non-financial complains or get involves in or specify disciplinary measures or complain handling procedures. NYU Business School Gets its First Black Dean

A new day another barrier is broken. The Stern School of Business at New York University, one of the premier business schools in the nation, has turned to an economics professor at Stanford University, who is also black, as its new dean.
Peter Blair Henry, a Jamaica-born Rhodes Scholar, moves to NYU in January 2010 from Stanford, where he’s currently holding the post of Konosuke Matsushita Professor of Economics. He’ll be NYU’s first black business school dean.
Henry takes over at the school with 5,700 students at a difficult time, with many people questioning the mission of business schools after last year’s financial crash, which many now believe was caused in part by greed among business leaders. Read More

We are saddened to learn about the fire, which destroys Phil’s Hardware in Spanish Town St. Catherine a few days ago. This will render that part of Spanish Town a virtual ghost town. Phil’s Hardware directly employed over 70 workers and is responsible for the livelihood of cab drivers, truck drivers and many others who depended on its existence. Read the rest of this entry
