It is amazing how Mrs. Simpson Miller and her time surprise many Jamaican with their big win in the December 29, 2011 election. Many media personnel who did not expect the win are in a flurry and because of this common sense are out the window.

From the little I know is that when you have a new government one of their first items on their agenda is to review what the outgoing government has left them with. The new government is privy to certain information while in opposition but the details are what are of great importance. The new government has no time to bask in celebration because in Jamaica there is so much that need to be done ASAP. Therefore they have to hit the ground running.

The media with their commentators and writers have to give the new government m some room to breathe. It is so surprising that even before the new prime has sworn in people started to tell her what to do, how to do it and the sequence that these task ought to be done. Dammed when did they realize that all these thing need to be done. Why didn’t they inform the previous government that they should accomplished these task. Is it because Mrs. Simpson Miller is a woman why these chauvinistic men see the need to tell her what to do. What’s up with that give the woman a break so she can get the ball rolling?

While it is important ant for the media to observe and report to the people there is no need to be pushing their ideology down people throat. Jamaicans in the election have shown then that they are no idiots and that they know what they want in a Government but obviously they media have not lean as demonstrated in their tutorial reporting to the Prime minister and her team. Com on guys lets be fair and let common sense prevail.
