Bruce Golding Promises

Today is the 66th annual conference of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) of which Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding is the president. Mr. Golding is highly anticipated to give one of  his trademark riveting speech, but will it be good enough to pacify the crowd again. JLP supporters, like the opposition, are going to endorse the speech no matter what is being said. Politics is sometimes a brain-dead sport. The problem is, can mister Golding delivers after his rendition.

The Prime minister forcefully promised to reduce the crime rate after he took office in 2007. The crime rate has now increased. He promised, especially the young people, to find jobs for them, unemployment increases. He promised to put the country on the right economic part. Jamaica has been downgraded by every reputable rating agency known to man.

At the time writing I am not yet privy to the latest round of promises coming from Mr. Golding but I am sure it will be compelling. At least we will have another dose of the pill of hope.
