Jamaica in 2012

Well not many countries on earth get to start the New Year with a new government. The People’s National Party (PNP) under the leadership of veteran politician Portia Simpson-Miller  unleashed one of Jamaica’s biggest political upset in election history to the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). This defeat is exceptional because no pollsters, analysis, commentators, or psychic was able to predict a 42-21 seat victory for the PNP.

I hope that all the nay sayer will now respect the action of the people of Jamaicans who have spoke. The Jamaicans I know don’t want to be disrespected or taken for fools, they don’t like to be tricked and they are smart enough to know that when your hands is in the lion mouth you pulled it out slowly am now confident in my brothers and sisters that they have demonstrated that respect is due and should be given to them by politians. People should be respected weather they are brown, black or white; rich or poor; straight or gay; we are all proud Jamaicans

When are criminals going to stop prey on the older generation. See the Jamaica Gleaner for  more on this story

Lotto Scammers Are Still At Work

One would think that with all the publicity surrounding the Lottery Scam that  victims would be hard to come, by but apparently not so. Several senior citizens in  the USA and other countries are still being bilked out of millions by so called Lotto Scammers. The scammers would called from countries like Jamaica and tell mostly senior citizens that they win the lotto but they need to pay money upfront to collect the proceeds. Although this seems foolish to many of us several hundreds  senior citizens fall for it and lose millions of dollars. It is said that some victims have lost in excess of US$500,000. We can’t emphasize this anymore. If you did not buy lotto how could you win it?

Justice Served

I can remember when going to school how I used to admire the police especially an inspector of police who used to monitor the minivans and the schooler as we go back and forth from school. I admire and respected them very much and after graduating I told my mother that I would like to become a police officer. Unfortunately I was not given the chance to do so, because I was too short. I was still determined to become an office but I was turned down the second time for the same reason, my height.

Even though I moved away I always Read the rest of this entry
