I have never felt so proud t be a Jamaican. I cannot stress in words the feeling I am experiencing. Thank God, Jah for the Jamaican Olympics who have given me so much hope for our great wonderful Island Jamaica. I have prayed and hope for many days to read the Jamaican Papers and see no murder. I am so happy that my hope is achieved with assistance of the Olympians. They showed us that as Jamaican we can achieve whatever we set our mind to. I always believe that we are a great nation and we can achieve greatness with proper guidance and Influence.
My brothers and sister I am begging you all to keep the Olympic spirit and believe in yourself and not the gun and aggression because the world is watching us. We have so much to achieve thanks to the Olympians who have lit the torch of change to show us the way. Thanks to the Jamaican who have realized how great they are and that they can achieve anything if they join together as one Jamaican.

Thanks to Usain Bolt and company no murder was reported in Jamaica yesterday. According to the Constabulary Communication Network there were no reports of murders in the country yesterday. We must all say a prayer so that God can touch the hearts of the gunmen for them to allow us many more days like this. The races will soon be over and we will soon get back to reality, but crime and violence will only serve to destroy all the hope we feel after watching our wonderful athletes perform.

Listening to Motty Perkins today on his talk show on Power 106 FM one gets the impression that Motty is only interesting in negative news, since most of his fame comes from promoting divisive politics and negativity. Callers to his talk show who were excited about Jamaica’s accomplishments in the Olympics were slighted and told that not every Jamaican had the opportunity that Usain Bolt and the others had. This is ridiculous. Life is a choice. Even the disadvantage has a choice. Usain could have been the most determined gunman in Jamaica. He chooses to run. To try to undermine the athletes achievements and the glory that the Jamaican people feel about their heroes is reminiscence of the type of ancient political antics that people like Motty Perkins continue to keep alive in Jamaica. We need to replace pessimism with hope. Jamaica is not lacking of doomsayers and negative preachers. Come on Motty is time for you to leave the scene. Your ideals are outdated and useless towards progress.
