Jamaica Rice, Peas and Chicken
Rice and Peas and chicken as it is affectionately called is a well loved dish in Jamaica. You can walk into any Jamaican home, especially on a Sunday, and almost guarantee that you will run into some nice Rice and Peas and Chicken meal. I don't know of many Jamaicans, except for vegetarians, who don't love this dish. Jamaicans will also boast that no one in the world can cook this dish like them. Mmmm.
Dunns River Fall Jamaica
Dunn's River Falls is a famous waterfall near Ocho Rios, Jamaica and a major Caribbean tourist attraction that attracts thousands of visitors each year.[1][2].
About 1,000 feet (300 m) high,[3] the waterfalls are terraced like giant stair steps. Several small lagoons are interspersed among the vertical sections of the falls.
Climbing up the waterfalls is a popular tourist activity[4] and is often, but not exclusively, performed with the help of tour guides from the park. | I was disappoint during my last visit as I tried to find some Jamaican candy I have been to many wholesales and shops and I haven’t come across any. I wanted to get some ginger ale, Icy mint and epically some busta (stag aback) because I wanted to give some to a Trinidadian co worker who had brought a similar candy from Trinidad and shared with us. | Words are out that fish vendors in the Mandeville market are using a chemical called formaldehyde on fish to keep it fresh and looking good. The chemical is widely known to be used by undertakers for embalming and preserving the bodies of dead people. The chemical is said to be very dangerous if used by untrained persons and is definitely not suitable for human consumption. The Jamaica Ministry of Health is investigating the matter.

A basin of Jamaican fried snapper fish from Alligator Pond sea front in St. Elizabeth. This fish was fried outdoors on wood fire Jamaican style. In Jamaica it is customary to roast, fry, grill and bake salt water fish. Many Jamaicans abroad and visitors alike visit Jamaica for the taste of the fish alone. Nowhere in the world fish is done like Jamaica… and I meant every word of it.

| The Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, presented by Air Jamaica and Publix, has rapidly become one of South Florida’s premier Caribbean family events. It has a broad general market appeal as the popularity of ‘Jerk’ crosses easily in Florida’s dynamic, multi-ethnic population.

| People are busy trying to get their load of the well sought after fish catch at Alligator Pond in St. Elizabeth. Fish dishes are extremely popular in Jamaica and you can’t get enough of it. No matter how many boats go to sea on a daily basis they sell their catches and still come up short in supply.

I had to see it for myself in black and white and even then I just cannot see the rationale behind this nonsense. Why do we need to import patties? I want to know why. You want to tell me that we don’t have enough patties in Jamaica. Come on Jamaicans this is going too far. There can be no excuse or rational for this decision making. Every country is Read the rest of this entry »

| In response to the article titled “weighty woes burden children – Worry over students as they pack on the pounds” which was published in the Gleaner May 5, 09 is no surprise to me. This created problem has been festering for years and is about to burst. The writing was plain on the wall for all to see. I am not a bit surprised with the outcome of many Jamaicans new practices.
