International Reggae Singer Mark ‘Buju Banton’ Myrie wins the Grammy award for his album  ’Before The Dawn’.  This could not come at a better time for Buju who is fighting for his freedom in a Tampa Florida Court. Buju was charged in a cocaine conspiracy, among other charges, in Florida. Buju had  a hung jury verdict in his first trial and his new trial begins in Tampa tomorrow. Go BUJU BANTON…

Every time we think it will be over for Buju ‘Mark Myrie’ Banton something else comes up to make his case looks more dismal. It seems like the prosecutor has been successful in convincing the trial judge to add more charges to Buju’s cocaine case. According to today’s Jamaica Gleaner when Buju Appear in court on Valentines day he will be slapped with three additional charges instead of the previous two charges which resulted in a hung jury.

Words are that Jamaican International music icon Gregory Isaacs, also known as the Cool Ruler, died at his home in London, England. Gregory Isaacs has been rumored to be ill over a period of time with lung cancer.

Gregory was known for hits such as Night Nurse, My Love is Overdue, Tune In, All I have is Love, Soon Forward, Oh What a Feeling and many more hits that place him among reggae icons. Isaac was born July 15, 1951 so at age 59 he was still relatively young. Isaac was not without controversies as he was rumored to have had an addiction to cocaine. However, we all agreed he belched out good music . As is customary most of us only knew Gregory through his music so we will continue to know him in years to come. May his soul rest in peace.

International reggae artist Mark Myrie also known as Buju Banton has been offered bail today in a Tampa court . Buju Banton has been arrested for nearly one year on cocaine charges. However the bail condition is very stringent: Buju’s bond is $250,000 and he must wear an electronic monitor as well as hire a a 24 hour security to follow him around so that he does not skip bail and run off. Buju next trial date is in December.

 Attorneys for reggae star Mark ‘Buju Banton’ Myrie will file a motion for bail for him today in the Tampa court where he is being held on cocaine charges. Buju’s attorneys have not been able to secure bail for the artist since his arrest 10 months ago.

Breaking:The jury on Buju Banton Trial could not decide on Buju’s fate guilty or not guilty. The jury told the judge that they were evenly split on the verdict. Tampa U.S. District Judge James Moody ordered the jury to continue deliberation until they reach a verdict.
