Buju Banton Pleads Not Guilty!

Reggae superstar Buju Banton pleaded not guilty to cocaine charges in a Tampa court yesterday. He did not seek bail either because he did not want to be turned over to US  immigration. Buju is not a US citizen but is here in on an entertainment visa so the immigration authorities could still take him in custody due to the nature of his charges. Banton’s lawyer said that he is innocent and the government case ‘Got no soul.’

Buju Banton Did Not Apply For Bail

In a strategic move reggae artist Buju ‘Mark Myrie’ Banton attorney did not apply for bail yesterday in Miami as expected. According to attorney Herbert Walker III, the case will most likely be tried in Tampa and that is where he should apply for Bail for the artist as you only have one shot at a a bail hearing. Buju is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. Buju categorically denied all charges against him.

Reggae superstar Buju “Mark Myrie’ Banton is to go before a Florida court today to answer charges in conspiracy to deal cocaine among other charges. The artist is expected to deny all charges against him and his attorney will be requesting bail. Many of the artist fans believe that he has been set up because of his recordings targeting the Gay and Lesbian community. Whatever the case maybe we are hoping that Buju receives very good legal representation so that he can clear his name if he is innocent.
