It is rather amazing and suspicious to have the political leaders both present and pass and police officers revealing to the gleaner that they are aware of the ganja /gun transaction that is taking place at Hellshire beach. This has me wondering how much does the police and the political leaders are contributing to the illegal activities that are taking place in Jamaica. It is sad to say that if they know about these activities and do nothing then they are a part of the crime scheme and that they should be held accountable. I have visited Hellshire at least 3 times every year and I have never ever seen a police officer on the beach or in the water. What’s up with that? What is the real issue why no officer is seen on patrol on the beach or in the vicinity?

The issue I have with this talk now about drug /gun trade is that most likely the government/UDC is trying to sell the property to some investor who will as they normally do is bar Jamaicans from the beach. This is no secret the present mayor after his election had said that this was his plan. Now they are trying to scheme a plot because they know that most Jamaicans are against the Drug/gun trade and that most Jamaican would do just about anything to get rid of the crime and violence that is stifling our country.

If in fact there is a drug/gun trade going on at Hellshire the police are not doing a good job in trying to control the situation. If they know that that is taking place they should be aggressively using patrols, undercover and boats to patrol capture these wrong doers or at least deter them from such activity. That is endangering the lives of locals as well as visitors that are there for a little enjoyment to eat some fish, festival and to get a dip in the salt water.
