In Jamaica the organization food for the poor, which is somewhat similar to, programs here in an America. What Jamaicans need to do though is in regards to building house for the less fortunate is to have family members and or the communities involve. They can also have interested young boys that are hanging out doing nothing get involve.
In America people who are going to get a house invest time building houses for others before they can get their house. They can have family and friends build up their time by volunteering.
This will also help the young man hanging out on the street doing nothing. If they volunteer their time helping this will be to their advancement because they will be learning a trade. There are so many ways that Jamaicans can start helping themselves and others.
Back in the days in the country people use to exchange labor in farming. Say I have a lot of work that need to be done a will get a group of men together arrange a day that I need help and provide lunch and get the work done. When time come around I will give back my labor to those that help me.
These are the things that Jamaicans need to get back to. They need to start rely on what they have which is each other to make a difference.
