I know that Jamaicans are great people and that they are advanced in technology, but there are some situations that we have no control over. We have no control over situation such as down electricity, no water, and no land or cell phone during or after a natural disaster. It is always important to be prepared based on speculation because we cannot know for sure what is going to happen.

During and after hurricane Charley hit Florida in 2004, we too were without cell and land phone, water, cable and electricity for more than 4 days. Remember we are talking about a developed America when compared to undeveloped third world Jamaica.

When it comes to natural disaster we have a level playing field because man have no control. Let us focus on the lives lost or saved and learn from it. This is what is important. I know that it is tough when you don’t have access to certain things , such as adequate water, food and shelter know that when we lost material things that we worked so hard for is not easy to swallow. But please remember that when you have life you should have hope that you will regain what you have lost.

Jamaica and Jamaicans are blessed and we always bounce back. Let us focus on the task that we have ahead. Let us stay safe and secure while Gustav goes by.
