Is This Fair?
Can you imagine coming to America worked very hard to make something of yourself? You struggle though hot and cold, good times and bad just because you convince yourself that you will be somebody, that you will have something to show that you achieve for all the hard work that you have done.
You built a house nothing elaborate but something that you can call your own and something that you can share with your family but then what you have dreamt of change.
You did don’t dream that you will have your own brothers and sisters who would not be happy for you. Some who wants to share your accomplishment equally with you even though they did not contribute or sacrifice towards your accomplishment. One may say they did not have the opportunity to go abroad and that is why they did not achieve anything .I would beg to differ because there are some Jamaicans who have neva put foot on a plane and what they have achieved is more than many who have lived their lives in a foreign country. As the old saying goes, “yu haffi lern to dance a yard before yu can dance abroad.”
Some people are lazy and no matter where they live they will not mount to nothing because they are waiting for manna to drop from sky. They not only live in Jamaica you can find them here in America also. No matter whichever part of the world you live in you have to do something in order to achieve something. Some might work harder than some and some might get luckier than some but that the same wherever you live. You just have to do your best and your best is enough but when you don’t do or try nothing that’s a total different story.
Yes they did not leave Jamaica but some have land and if a dem if plant a stark a calloo yu woulda dead if hungry. But in the same breath they want you if go a foreign work hard and then share everything equally with them and them nu have nothing to share with you. Nothing caan go so. If we a share then we a share, I give to you and you can give to me too. It doesn’t have to be equal in value but it is a good feeling to give as well as to receive.
