Jamaica Govt. Admits Knowledge of Extradition Links
The Jamaica Government through its spokesman General Secretary Karl Samuda, admits that they know more than what they led the public to believe over the last months since the Dudus extradition matter came about. Samuda said that persons within his party asked local attorney Harold Brady to engage the services of a US attorney to discuss treaty dispute between US and Jamaica.
Many Jamaicans believe this to mean the government is attempting to find ways to get the USA to back off from asking for Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke’s extradition on drugs and gun charges. Dudus is believed to be a strong supporter of the present government and any extradition of Dudus to the USA would cause massive disruption and embarrassment to the government.
The opposition spokesman on national security issues, Dr. Peter Phillips, states that Samuda admission still leaves more questions than answers. Why is the government expressing so much interest in this matter from a part y level? and who pays the nearly US$50,000 to US attorneys Manatt, Phelps & Phillips? This story is getting more interesting by the day. Stay tuned!
