I remember when I was a school girl people were very respectful of each other and all this vulgarity if it had existed was not exposed for everyone to see. Not anymore many of the young people now a day’s don’t care a lick about decency or respect for themselves or for others.

And this is why I agree that public transportation and its contents should be visible for the public to see. The government takes upon themselves to take away discipline and accountability from the parents and teachers this is why there is an increase chaos and misbehaving being displayed by the children and their counter parts.

It is sad to see the behavior displayed by these scholars. They don’t seem to have any respect for adults, pregnant women or their elders. I remember when traveling on the bus and if an adult comes in then the schoolers would offer them their seat out of respect. They would also do the same for elders or a pregnant woman. This behavior also goes for a male because that was a way of life in Jamaica, it was a given. But these last days everyone is grown from them eye di a dem knee no one care anymore, everyone is for themselves. They believe that they can do anything, say anything, listen to anything and behave anyway they choose. The more vulgar and daring the bigger and bolder they become destroying their character, self imagine, value and self worth in the process. And the bus or taxi drivers don’t care one bit all that matters are their popularity and the money that they made doing their daily rituals not taking into considerations the lives that they are destroying in the process which all stem from greed and get rich quick mentality.

Yes, I used to be proud to say that Jamaica is a very free democratic country but not anymore. I do believe that this freedom has gone too far because many are not using common sense, respect or restrain in regards to many issues or situations. It cannot get any worse than to see women wearing skimpy clothing, some with no under wear rolling themselves on the dutty streets or basically having sex on the street for an audience. Then they claim that they are dancing or as they called it Daggering. What a shame and disgrace to see a generation of people destroying themselves and their future with such acts of carelessness and vulgarity. As it stands who is going to be the teachers, the nurses, lawyers and doctors in the future it look as if we will soon be classified as a lost nation.

I hope that the government stand firm and take control of the country. I do hope that this is the first move and that they have many more action plans in the near future because enough, is enough we cannot sit by and loose a country just like that.
