Former PNP Member of Parliament Sharon Haye-Webster has crossed the line and gone over to the Jamaica Labour Party JLP). Ms. Webster is angry that the opposition Peoples National Party (PNP) did not support her when she was accused by the JLP of sitting as a Member of a Parliament while she was a US citizen. It is alleged that Ms. Webster has recently denounced her US citizenship, obtained by birth, and will bring great joy to the ruling JLP while committing the PNP to the ashes of hell. It seems like newly crowned Jamaica PM, Prince Andrew, is having a dilemma in when to call the election. You damn if you do and if you don’t also. The scenario is like this; if he does a Portia and wait too long he could lose the popular support that he is now certainly enjoying. He would move from the unknown to the dangerous territory of the known. If he calls it too quick Read the rest of this entry

Oh how I am dreaming and what a marvelous dream.
The land I dream of, the beautiful land that I yearn for, the wonderful place that I hope for .The land, my country Jamaica.
Oh how I dream of no violence, no murder, no political control and manipulation. Oh how I dream of a country that want to reveal her inner beauty and her people.
I am in love but I am so scared that I am so tired of being hurt by the one I love. It is such a terrible feeling. A feeling of helplessness because I just cannot give up that love. The love that I have for Jamaica even though my feeling are frequently battered and even though I don’t know how much longer I sustain this abuse of lies, mistrust, selfishness and greed, I don’t plan on giving up just yet because the love is just too strong.
I dream of a country whereby I could walk the street wherever and whenever without fear or concern. My God how I dream to enjoy a place that is so beautifully made by you which offer so much to be enjoyed and desired.
I really am looking for that change, when we all could enjoy what we really have, the wonderful weather, the beautiful beaches, mountains and the majority of good people could truly say they enjoy their lives and living in a wonderful place JAMAICA
Maria Buchanan.

Minister of Finance Hon. Audley Shaw was yesterday taken to hospital after feeling dizzy during a Jamaica House meeting. Early diagnosis indicated that Mr. Shaw maybe suffering from a Flu like symptom or an Ear Nose and Throat infection. He is still undergoing observation at the University Hospital of the West Indies. Mr. Shaw had just recently entered the race for JLP leader after Mr. Golding announced his impending departure. However, he backed down after the 39 year old Andrew Holness started to get a wave of support from the party supporters.
