I am presently living in the USA but from your letter in the Gleaner 1-6-2010 I do believe that I am living in the wrong place. Maybe I should be living in the same country that you live in where white don’t discriminate against black. Don’t get me wrong I do believe that there are some improvement and that life in America is better than what is used to be 20 -30 years ago, but to say that we have equal opportunities is not true.

Many do believe that because America now have a black president all is well, no, it is not, and that is no secret because as reported on the news media many whiter group uprising have now come into place since Obama has been elected. And even though some whites are finally taking a look at blacks for who they are and their achievement many are very angry and are not afraid to let their intentions be known.

Many blacks have done well but it’s not an easy job they have to work so much hard and jump many more hurdles to get where they are. In America there are a lucky few who slipped though the system because the majority (whites) under estimate their ability and by the time they realized what was happening it was too late. So that is why people in Jamaica as well as America still holds on to the Marcus Gravy movement and the NAACP.
