Crime Rate Still On The Rise For 2009

With over 13 people killed in Jamaica since the beginning of the year, the crime rate has not shown any signs of easing up. When the final count comes in for 2008 we will be looking at about 1600 killings. It is hard to talk about the run away murder rate in the Island but if we continue to put pressure on the politicians and authorities they will ultimately find ways to reduce the murder rate. We can not let up or get weary. As you can see the murderers don’t take holidays. We will have to let our voices heard through any medium possible.

In an effort to put a dent in the ever increasing murder rate and crime in general, Jamaica will establish a worldwide crime information hot-line on January 18, 2009.
