With the election of Barrack Obama as president of the USA, many people believe that this signals an era of a new beginning in race relationship but apparently some people are determined to keep it alive. Just this week a cartoon in the New York Post referred to Obama as a Chimpanzee. The creator did it in a way that he could wiggle his way out, but the inference was very clear about his intentions. For those of us who are optimistic about race relations we have to remember that so many people and institutions are profiting from racism that hell will freeze over before they give up on it.
