Words are that Trinidad owned Caribbean Airlines are in the final stage of a deal to purchase Air Jamaica. Air Jamaica has been on the selling block since it was reported that it is indebted to the tune of  US$1.2 billion. While most Jamaicans may feel a sense of loss with Jamaica no longer owning the Airline they will cherish the idea that at least the Airline has not gone under and it is still Caribbean owned.
