Vendors Using ‘Embalming Fluid’ on Fish

Words are out that fish vendors in the Mandeville market are using a chemical called formaldehyde on fish to keep it fresh and looking good. The chemical is widely known to be used by undertakers for embalming and preserving the bodies of dead people. The chemical is said to be very dangerous if used by untrained persons and is definitely not suitable for human consumption. The Jamaica Ministry of Health is investigating the matter.
